A digital broadcasting signal, and a method and an apparatus for processing the digital broadcasting signal are provided to display streaming text data, which are received in a digital broadcasting environment, to a viewer. An SDT(Streaming Data Table) section for the current channel is filtered(S601). The filtered SDT section is parsed(S602). A descriptor for defining streaming text data is parsed in the SDT(S603). It is determined whether the display start time of the streaming text data is passed(S604). When the display star time of the streaming text data is passed, the streaming text data are displayed(S606). When the display start time of the streaming text data is not passed, a timer is set to display the stream text data at the display start time(S605).
