PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the discoloration of a cast molded epoxy resin article produced by pressure gelation process without using a special heating apparatus. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition for pressure gelation is produced by compounding (a) an epoxy resin having two or more 1,2-epoxy groups in one molecule, (b) methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride, (c) an alkylammonium chloride and (d) an inorganic filler as a filler. The epoxy resin composition for pressure gelation is injected into a mold and cured while supplying the resin composition under pressure in an amount corresponding to the cure shrinkage of the composition until the completion of curing to obtain the cast molded epoxy resin article by pressure gelation process.
