PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nickel fine powder free from flocculation and suitable as a filler for imparting magnetic properties, and to provide nickel fine powder having a mean primary particle diameter of≤100 nm produced by the method for producing nickel fine powder. SOLUTION: The method for producing nickel fine powder is characterized in that a nickel salt is dissolved in water to prepare an aqueous solution, hexamethylenetetramine in a quantity of 1 to 100 times the molar quantity of the nickel ions in the aqueous solution is added to the aqueous solution to produce precipitates, and the precipitates are heat-treated.
