A takraw is woven form takraw ball strips ( 10 ) of springy material having soft material pads ( 42 ) preferably mounted into recesses ( 30 ) in a strip face ( 28 ), the pads are, at least in part, bounded by strip face parts ( 32, 34, 36 ) which function to lend stiffness to the strip, and/or protect pad edges and/or assist in mounting pads onto the strips.
