PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method of a boom for a movement type crane capable of enhancing workability of own mounting of the boom. SOLUTION: The crawler crane is provided with a lower boom 16 having a base end detachably mounted to a machine body by a boom foot pin and a boom standing/falling device including a mast 25 standably/fallably provided on the machine body and standing/falling the lower boom relative to the machine body. The crane includes a connection step for standing/falling the mast and connecting a distal end of the mast and the lower boom placed on ground to making the lower boom in the hangable state according to the standing action of the mast; a restriction step for connecting the machine body and the lower boom; and a hanging up step for hanging up the lower boom by standing the mast. In the restriction step, movement of the base end of the lower boom relative to the machine body is restricted according to the standing action of the mast in the hanging up step such that the base end of the lower boom automatically reaches to a mounting position to the machine body by the boom foot pin.
