PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for confirming portion below vehicle capable of maintaining a state wherein starting of a vehicle is prevented unless a driver performs operation for confirming that an object does not exist below a vehicle, and capable of drastically improving reliability. SOLUTION: This device for confirming portion below vehicle is provided with a monitoring camera 3 for imaging circumstances below the vehicle and displaying on a display device 2 and an infrared sensor 4 for sensing the heat of the object as detection means for detecting whether the object exists below the vehicle or not, a lock device 7 for locking a parking brake 6 held in a braking state in such a manner of preventing releasing of the braking state as a starting prevention maintaining means for maintaining a state wherein starting of the vehicle is prevented, and a confirmation release switch 8 as a confirmation release means for releasing the starting prevention maintaining state of the vehicle by the lock device 7 as the starting prevention maintaining means.
