RUBBER COMPOSITION AND RUN-FLAT TIRE USING THE SAME

Disclosed is a rubber composition characterized by containing 2-20 parts by mass of a phenol resin and 0.5-5 parts by mass of a curing agent for resins per 100 parts by mass of a rubber component which contains not less than 50% by mass of an isocyanate modified diene rubber wherein the vinyl bond content in the diene component is not less than 20% by mass. Also disclosed is a run-flat tire which uses such a rubber composition in a side reinforcing layer and/or a bead filler. The run-flat tire is improved in run-flat durability without deteriorating ride quality during normal operation of the run-flat tire.
