PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home gateway system to a client which simplifies the connection of home gateway equipment, which enables a number of devices to be easily connected, is easily used, superior in expandability, and facilitates the maintenance of the system. SOLUTION: In the home gateway system, a portion for performing computer network control and network management (having functions), and a portion for performing device control (having functions), of this system 200, are separated into a master unit 201 and a slave unit 202, respectively.
