PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio reproducing apparatus capable of smoothly restarting viewing without greatly disturbing a view flow so far by selecting video/audio associated with a stored program viewed just before during a temporary stop period. SOLUTION: The video audio reproducing apparatus includes: an instruction reception means 15; a data processing means 11 for reproducing externally selected content; a reduction moving picture generating means 12 for generating a reduced moving picture on the basis of reproduction interval information extracted by a scene keyword and a highlight keyword; a selection means 13 for selecting an associated content related to a content during reproduction at present from a plurality of stored contents on the basis of an ID for denoting a series program and an ID for denoting a repetitively recorded program; and an associated moving picture selection means 13 for instructing the data processing means to reproduce the reduced moving picture of the selected associated content for a period wherein the reproduction of the content is interrupted during reproduction at present by an external control instruction of the reproduction interruption.
