PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system whereby the ease of use relative to a speech with a door intercom slave unit can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The intercom system includes a wireless I/F section 15 for interfacing a master unit 1 with the wireless communication function of a mobile phone terminal 3 which includes: a mobile phone function for making a speech via the mobile phone network of a mobile phone enterprise; and a wireless communication function for making wireless communication not via the mobile phone network, and a voice signal is transmitted/received between the mobile phone terminal 3 and the door intercom slave unit 2 via the wireless I/F section 15. Consequently, the ease of use can be enhanced since a user can make a speech with the door intercom slave unit 2 using not only the master unit 1 but also the mobile phone terminal 3 even when the user makes no contract with a subscriber telephone line, furthermore since the user can make a speech not through the mobile phone network of the mobile phone enterprise in the case of a speech between the mobile phone terminal 3 and the door intercom slave unit 2, the cost required for the speech can sharply be reduced.
