PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the use by providing an in-wheel motor where a hollow motor and a reduction gear unit can be incorporated within a thickness which is substantially equal to the width dimension of a tire. SOLUTION: The in-wheel motor where a reduction gear mechanism 3 is fixed to the output shaft of a motor and the output shaft of the reduction gear 3 is fixed to a wheel 5 comprises a hollow motor 12 arranged to be aligned with the central axis of rotation of the wheel 5, and the reduction gear unit 3 arranged in the hollow section of the hollow shaft 13 of the hollow motor 12.
