PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely maintain the height adjusted state of a guide shaft with high assembling work efficiency. SOLUTION: This disk device includes a guide shaft 10 disposed on a traverse chassis 4 to support an optical pickup so as to reciprocate in the radial direction of a disk, a coil spring 35 disposed between the end of the guide shaft 10 and the traverse chassis 4, and an adjust screw 34 engaged with the screw hole 33 of the traverse chassis 4 and with the end of the guide shaft 10 to adjust the height of the guide shaft 10 against the coil spring 35. One end of the coil spring 35 is a small diameter part 35A while the other end is a large diameter part 35B. The small diameter part 35A is fitted in the recess 36 of the traverse chassis 4, and the large diameter part 35B is abutted on the guide shaft 10.
