PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a text editor for editing/maintaining the source program of program language having a non-procedure processing syntax which is convenient for a user, and excellent in maintenance. SOLUTION: The syntax analysis of a source program being edited is performed, and a relation between the definition method of data and the non-procedure syntax of a processing description part is analyzed from the result of the syntax analysis, and when it is clarified that the non-procedure processing exists, data items relevant to this are displayed so as to be emphasized. When a user designates this, the definition of both data items and data items interlinked with the data items, non-procedure processing syntax and its description information are displayed in another window.
