PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a consumable electrode AC pulsed arc welding in which excellent arc stability is obtained when a short circuit occurs in polarity change. SOLUTION: In the method of controlling polarity change of the consumable electrode AC pulsed arc welding, the welding is performed by conducting the peak current Ip and the base current Ib during the electrode positive polarity period, or conducting the electrode negative current In during the electrode negative polarity period Ten, and alternately changing the electrode positive polarity period Tep and the electrode negative polarity period Ten. When changing the polarity, the short circuit is released and the arc is re-generated when a consumable electrode is short-circuited with a base metal, and the polarity is changed after the predetermined delay period Td is elapsed.
