<p>Disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition having a prophylactic or therapeutic effect on a conformational disease such as Alzheimer's disease, prion disease and amyloidosis. The pharmaceutical composition comprises, as an active ingredient, at least one cellulose ether selected from a cellulose ether having a constitutional unit represented by the general formula (1) shown below, an alkali metal salt of the cellulose ether, an aliphatic acid ester of the cellulose ether, and a mixture thereof. (1) wherein at least one of R's is selected from CH<SUB>3</SUB>, C<SUB>2</SUB>H<SUB>5</SUB>, CH<SUB>2</SUB>CH<SUB>2</SUB>OH, CH<SUB>2</SUB>CH(OH)CH<SUB>3</SUB> and CH<SUB>2</SUB>COOM, and the others are independently represent H; and M is selected from H, Na, K and Ca.</p> |
