<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely fix a valve stem seal to a stem guide, while securing ease of assembly of the valve stem seal to the stem guide. <P>SOLUTION: A fitting member 46 made of shape memory alloy is disposed to a stem guide fixing part 40 as a portion where the valve stem seal 30 is fixed to the stem guide 21. Since the diameter of the fitting member 46 gets large when the valve stem seal 30 is assembled to the stem guide 21, the valve stem seal can be assembled to the stem guide 21 with a relatively weak fitting force by the stem guide fixing part 40. Since the fitting member 46 is formed so that the diameter thereof gets small when a temperature is increased in operation of an internal combustion engine, the fitting force to the stem guide 21 by the stem guide fixing part 40 can be increased by the reduction in diameter thereof. As a result, the stem guide 21 can be surely fixed, while securing the ease of assembly of the valve stem seal 30 to the stem guide 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
