摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a higher joining strength in accordance with a type of metallic plating, in joining a metallic member subjected to metal plating and other metallic member by a friction welding method. <P>SOLUTION: In the welding method, a first metallic member of which the weld zone has been subjected to metal plating is superimposed on a second metallic member having a lower melting point than the first metallic member and then, a rotary tool is pushed into the second metallic member while being rotated. As a result, the second metallic member is softened by a frictional heat to produce plastic flow therein, so that the first and the second metallic member are joined by solid phase welding. In this welding method, with the metallic-plating preliminarily heated, and on condition that the temperature of the metallic-plating is at least in excess of the solidus temperature, the rotary tool is pushed in the second metallic member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
