<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device improved in viewing angle characteristics as well as display quality by a simple configuration, and to provide an optical-compensation film incorporating polarizing plate which contributes toward improving viewing angle characteristics particularly of an IPS type liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The long optical-compensation film incorporating polarizing plate comprises: a long polarizing film having an absorption axis parallel to a longitudinal direction; a long second retardation film which includes a cellulose acylate film containing a substituent of which the polarizability anisotropy Δα represented by expression (1): Δα=αx-(αy+αz)/2 is ≥2.5×10<SP>-24</SP>cm<SP>-3</SP>, has a retardation in thickness direction Rth of -300 to -40 nm and an in-plane retardation Re of ≤50 nm, and has no optical axis included in a film plane; and a long first retardation film having a slow axis substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal direction between the polarizing film and the second retardation film.
