PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality storage battery with reliability of welding improved at a welding part of a collector with a conductive end edge of the electrode plate, by optimizing contact resistance at a contact part of peripheral walls of burring holes arranging the collector and the conductive end edge of plates of an electrode group. SOLUTION: The current collector 15, of nearly a circular shape, has a number of burring holes 15c formed from its center part toward an outer periphery, out of which 15c, a height h1 of a peripheral wall of one 15c existing at a center part side (a region X) is formed larger than those h2, h3 of peripheral walls the ones 15c existing at an outer periphery side (regions Y, Z) from the center part. With this, a contact between the peripheral wall of the burring hole 15c existing at the center part side and the conductive end edge part of the electrode is well maintained, and a contact resistance at that part can be made smaller than at the outer periphery side, so that occurrence of welding sputtering at that part is to be prevented.
