<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for topical administration for prophylaxis and/or treatment of herpesvirus infections in mammals including human, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition for topical administration. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to pharmaceutical composition for transcutaneous administration or administration to mucosa, for prophylaxis and/or treatment of herpesvirus infections in mammals including human, comprising a combination of an antiviral substance such as foscarnet with the anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid such as a hydrocortisone in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
