PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for hanging a transformer in which a hanging belt is prevented easily and surely from slipping out of the transformer, and to provide a method for installing a transformer equipped with the device for hanging a transformer by using a hanging belt. SOLUTION: The device for hanging a transformer comprises a plurality of receiving members 12 provided on the outer circumference at the upper portion of a transformer body 2 oppositely to the radial direction, a plurality of retaining members 14 located at the outer circumferential positions on the upper surface of a lid member 4 corresponding to the receiving members 12, and a clip member 17 engaging with the receiving member 12.
