PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agent for increasing HDL (high-density lipoprotein) cholesterol in blood, easily edible as a daily food. SOLUTION: The agent for increasing HDL cholesterol in blood comprises, as an active ingredient, a fat and oil composition comprising≥35 wt.% diacylglycerol of (cis-unsaturated fatty acid amount)/[(saturated fatty acid amount)+(trans-unsaturated fatty acid amount)] of≥6, in the constituent fatty acids of diacylglycerol, and≥0.05 wt.% plant sterol. By taking diacylglycerol as a daily edible fat and oil, HDL cholesterol in blood is increased, so arteriosclerosis and several adult diseases can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
