PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical/efficient cleaning method of an oriented film resin for liquid crystal, especially a cleaning method of an oriented film printing plate which can well deal with an oversized substrate. SOLUTION: This cleaning method of the oriented film resin adhering to the printing plate, comprises the step of arranging a porous sheet on the surface of the printing plate, the step of impregnating the porous sheet with a solvent for the oriented film resin and leave the sheet at rest and the step of releasing the solvent-impregnated sheet from the printing plate.
