PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape steel in which flexural rigidity EI around a strong axis is improved while suppressing its weight and production cost. SOLUTION: In the shape steel comprising upper and lower flanges and a web, at least the upper and lower flanges are composed of high Young's modulus steel sheets whose Young's modulus in the rolling direction is >215 to 290 GPa, and the high Young's modulus steel sheets are fixed to the web in such a manner that the rolling direction thereof comes to the longitudinal direction of the upper and lower flanges.
