<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembler for pre-folding a carton to alleviate maintenance, especially a bottom pre-folding assembler which can be loaded inside a known forming, filling and sealing machine and perform a carton folding operation under an operation speed of the known filling machine; in regard to a package having a bottom wall with a folded leaf gusset tip. <P>SOLUTION: The pre-folding assembler contains a drive unit and first and second bending arms designed to contact and pre-fold front and rear panels inward. A forming arm is operationally joined with the drive unit and made movable with the first and second bending arms. The forming arm is provided with a pair of pivotal movement finger members attached. Each finger member has a carton engagement section which engages with a gusset tip forming panel section and folds the panel section opposite to the folding direction of the gusset panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
