PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball mounting apparatus with a mask capable of removing stray balls. SOLUTION: The ball mounting apparatus 7 has a mask 110 having a plurality of holes 111 and a ball feeder unit 74. The feeder unit 74 feeds microballs B onto the mask 110 laid on a substrate 100 to mount the balls B on the substrate 100 through the plurality of holes 111 of the mask 110. The mask 110 has a plurality of linearly extending slender projections 112 on the downside, keeping away from the plurality of holes 111, The slender projections 112 are provided in one direction only. The apparatus 7 wipes to clean the downside of the mask 110 by a cleaning unit 140 moving in one direction with contacting with the downside of the mask 110 to remove flux or stray balls, etc. deposited to the downside of the mask 110.
