PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle headlamp formed so as to have a simple, small, and light structure, and designed so that light utilization efficiency is enhanced. SOLUTION: This vehicle headlamp 10 is equipped with a light source 11 the light emitting part of which is disposed along an optical axis O horizontally extending forward, and a reflecting surface 12 recessed forward so as to reflect light from the light source forward. This vehicle headlamp 10 has a cylindrical optical member 13 disposed so as to surround the light source from the surroundings of the optical axis to control a directional pattern with respect to light from the light source.
