PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillator for surface mount which enables vibration characteristics of a crystal resonator to be measured even after the oscillator is mounted on a set board. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator for surface mount includes: a mount board 1 having at least a mount terminal 5 in an outer bottom face and comprising a lamination board; a crystal chip 3 provided in a front side of the mount board 1 being an opposite side of the outer bottom side and hermetically sealed by a metallic cover 4; and an IC chip 2 provided in the front side of the mount board 1 and hermetically sealed together with the crystal chip 3 or separately provided in a recess provided in the outer bottom side from the crystal chip 3, wherein the lamination board of the mount board 1 is configured such that at least one end of any of the lamination board of the mount board 1 is projected from the cover and a crystal inspection terminal 12 electrically connected to the crystal chip 3 is provided on the projected surface of the lamination board.
