PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce generation load of a new database by effectively utilizing information included in an existing database. SOLUTION: A city plan database 20 as an existing database and a road database 30 as a new database are first input. When a symbol such as one way traffic, a traffic strip, and a sidewalk in the city plan database 20 is included in road polygons in the road database 30, an attribute corresponding to the symbol is set in the road database 30. Thus, the generation load of the newly generated road database 30 can be reduced by effectively utilizing attribute information set up in the existing database. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
