PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which is miniaturized without deteriorating an image quality. SOLUTION: An image is recorded in such a way that an ink droplet is discharged to paper from a recording head array 30. When an image is recorded, an image recording timing control mechanism 60 generates a printing clock signal corrected by correction data by one cycle amount (one rotation amount of a drive roll 24) starting from a reference position by a reference position detecting sensor 38, according to a carrying speed fluctuation, and outputs it to each of printing clock signal generation mechanisms 64. Each of the mechanism 64 generates a correcting printing clock signal by using as a trigger, a drive roll reference position signal from the reference position detecting sensor 38, and outputs it to an inkjet recording head 32. In this way, image recording timing is controlled according to the carrying speed fluctuation in the image recording timing control mechanism 60, so that printing density unevenness is eliminated.
