PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method of a decorative building material for easily maintaining unity of work, securing uniformity of construction, reducing influence by a secular change in strength, and enhancing reliability by providing long-term stability after the construction, by installing a molding member by fixing to a wall surface. SOLUTION: This construction method is constituted so that a locking material of forming a claw part of upwardly projecting the upper edge in a projecting part of projecting outward from a collar part by fixing the collar part to the wall surface of a building, and the molding member formed to be engageable with the locking member by arranging a fitting part having a side surface cross section formed in response to a side surface cross section of this locking material on the back face side, are prepared; the fitting part formed on the back face side of the molding member is fitted in the locking material; the claw part is fixed by inserting the projecting part of the locking material into the fitting part of the molding member; a back face of the molding member is pressed to the wall surface; the molding member is fixed to the locking material; and the back face of the molding member is adhered to the wall surface.
