A circular knitting machine is described for producing a knitted fabric with at least partial use of fibrous material. The circular knitting machine comprises a plurality of stitch formation stations and drawing frames (119) which are assigned at least to selected stitch formation stations and have at least one first pair (I) of drawing frame elements (120) and one pair (IV) of exit drawing frame elements (122). According to the invention, at least the axes of the exit drawing frame elements (122) are provided with axes which are arranged vertically in an installation state.
