PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ink adhering to a face in the delivery from dropping when a cap unit is attached to a body. SOLUTION: The cap unit is configured to be detachably attached to a face of an inkjet head for performing recording by ejecting a recording liquid from an opening of a nozzle, the face having the opening of the nozzle formed thereon. The cap unit comprises: a protection member for protecting the face of the inkjet head having the opening of the nozzle; an elastic cap which is fixed to the protection member and is adapted to cover a region of the nozzle by being brought into intimate contact with the face; and a liquid absorption member provided in the elastic cap. When the cap unit is detached or attached, the liquid absorption member once approaches the face having the opening of the nozzle as compared with the case where the cap is attached.
