PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading system simplified in operation. SOLUTION: A file selected from a shared folder in a PC in step S1 is copied to an operation folder in an MFP in step S2. When it is determined that image data can be added in step S4, append/replace is selected in step S6-1, and when replace is selected, a concerned page is deleted in steps S7-1 and S7-2. Image data generated by scanning in step S9 are appended to the file in the operation folder in step S9. A file is stored in the shared folder in step S10-1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
