PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and compact sheet processing device capable of stably binding a bundle of sheets with high quality at low costs without deteriorating jam eliminating performance by regulating generation of flexure of the bundle of aligned sheets and easily binding the sheets at accurate positions. SOLUTION: The sheet processing device consists of an aligning and binding tray F for aligning the conveyed and stacked sheets for binding, a conveying direction matching means 12 for matching the sheets conveyed into the aligning and binding tray F in the conveying direction, a binding means S1 for binding the bundle of sheet aligned by the conveying direction matching means 12, and a bundle of sheet presser means 107 for pressing the bundle of sheets to be bound by the binding means S1 in the thickness direction of the bundle of sheet by swinging the bundle of sheets from the waiting position to the operating position. The bundle of sheet presser means 107 is operated when the predetermined time passed after the last sheet of the bundle of sheets is conveyed to the aligning and binding tray F and matching in the vertical direction is concluded.
