PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a training device capable of alleviating pain, which can set a location at which the trainee starts to move part of the body at the time of unstiffening training, differently depending on individual trainees. SOLUTION: The trainee is seated on a saddle 2 of a training device body 1 and performs exercise by horizontally moving the arm inward and outward. Then the trainee turns the arm in a direction in which he or she feels a pain, and then returns the arm to a location where the trainee feels no pain while a predetermined load is applied to a tool 4, thereby determining an initial location. Then the trainee moves the arm form the initial location to a location of a base point at which he or she feels no pain at all. The load applied to the tool 4 into which the arm is fitted is set to a maximum value in a first stage, but after the lapse of a predetermined time period, the maximum load is damped on a basis of a quadratic curve.
