The invention concerns an arrangement (10) for mounting a stand (12) for a linear electric motor (14) comprising a primary winding (18) secured to the stand (12) and a secondary winding (20) secured to a structure (16), of the type wherein the vertical stand (12) is mounted mobile on the structure (16) along a longitudinal displacement direction via guide means (22) and comprising a main board (24) bearing the primary winding (18) and at least one upper fastening wing (26) comprising part (28) of the guide means (22) designed to co-operate with another complementary part (20) comprised in the structure (16). The invention is characterized in that the stand (12) is suspended relative to the structure (16) via so-called upper guide means (22), such that the stand (12) is capable of freely expanding along a main expanding direction, that is vertically downwards to compensate the thermal expansion of the material of the stand (12) under the effect of heating of the primary winding (18) and such that the upper guide means (22) are not affected.
