<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source device in which an increase of brightness is inhibited at a part positioned right above a light emitting device, such as an LED or the like, so that a luminance distribution on a light emitting surface of a light guide member can be uniformed, and brightness variation and color phase irregularity can be reduced, thereby providing high utilization efficiency of light and high brightness, and moreover, which can be made thinner and smaller, and provide a display apparatus using this planar light source device. <P>SOLUTION: In the planar light source device using an light emitting element, a recess part is provided at a position corresponding to the light emitting element on a lower surface of a light guide member arranged on an upper surface of a light emitting element mounted substrate having the light emitting element mounted thereon, a light semi-transmissive part in a part of an inner surface (recess surface) of the recess part and a light reflection part in at least one part on the lower surface of the light guide member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
