<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quality by maintaining waterproof and drainage performance, in an electrical connection box used for housing electronic components and arranged in the engine room of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the electrical connection box 1, an electronic component 11 is housed in a lower cover 2, and an upper cover 3 is fitted. The cover fitting surface of the lower cover 2 and an electric wire exit are positioned at a part lower than the lowermost part of terminal connection. On the upper cover 3, a damage-preventing rib 13 is formed on its top surface. When the electrical connection box 1 is submerged under water, a hermetically sealed space is formed in the upper cover 3, and pressure action of an air layer causes the water to permeate into the inside of the electrical connection box 1, only at a predetermined water level (lower than terminal). As a result, terminal and bus bar can be prevented from being submerged under water, and the waterproof and drainage performance of the electrical connection box 1 can be maintained. The damage-preventing rib 13 prevents cracks from occurring on the top surface of the upper cover 3, and the waterproof and drainage performance of the electrical connection box 1 can be maintained over a long period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
