<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning device for a vehicle to be used for preventing the theft of an automobile, etc., which does not cause a malfunction, and assures sure detection for preventing the theft. <P>SOLUTION: A high frequency collected signal within a high frequency range XH is inputted from a sound collecting means 1 to a control means 7 via a high frequency filter 5. In parallel with the high frequency collected signal, a low frequency collected signal within a low frequency range XL is inputted from the sound collecting means 1 to the control means 7 via a low frequency filter 6. An opening/closing signal from a detecting means 8 for detecting the opening/closing of a door of the vehicle is inputted to the control means. When the low frequency collected signal has been detected and the opening/closing signal has not been detected, the control means 7 does not operate the warning device. When the door of one's own car has been opened or closed, and when the high frequency collected signal like the sound from a windowpane of one'own car, etc. has been inputted, the warning device is operated. When the low frequency collected signal like the sound from the door of other vehicle has been inputted, the warning device is not operated.
