PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of preventing malfunctions due to misrecognition of speech. SOLUTION: In a digital television receiver 100, control contents, corresponding to command information based upon a speech recognition result, are displayed on a display means (image-receiving section 10) by a display control means (a CPU 121 and a display control program 123c); and when there is no interruption of control, corresponding to the control contents instructed by an instructing means (speech information acquisition section 11) within a predetermined wait, time after the control contents corresponding to the command information based on the speech recognition result begins to be displayed on the display means, control is carried out the predetermined wait time later by the control means (the CPU 121 and control program 123d), based on the command information on the basis of the speech recognition result.
