An information processor enabling the user to operate an operating member operable in any direction while reducing the difference in the feeling of operation by the user among the operating directions. The information processor has an operating member (14a) operable in any direction, indicates a position (P1) in a two-dimensional region (A) determined depending on the operation on the operating member (14a), acquires output data representing the operating direction and the amount of operation of the operating member (14a) as the direction and distance from the origin (O) of the two-dimensional region (A) of the position (P1), indicates a position (P2) in the two-dimensional region (A) according to the output data, outputs operation command data specifying the operating direction and the amount of operation of the operating member (14a) depending on the direction and distance from the origin (O) of the position (P2), and restricts the variation of the upper limit of the distance from the origin (O) to the position (P2) because of the direction from the origin (O) to the position (P2). |
