Disclosed is an emulsion obtained by dispersing a dispersoid in water together with an emulsifying agent, wherein the dispersoid is an olefin copolymer containing a structural unit derived from ethylene, a linear a-olefin, or ethylene and a linear a-olefin, and another structural unit derived from a vinyl compound (I) shown below, or alternatively the dispersoid is a modified product of the olefin copolymer which is obtained by graft-polymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid to the olefin copolymer.The volume-based median diameter of the dispersoid contained in the emulsion is within the range of 0.01-1 µm.
