<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electromagnetic induction heating type belt fixing device of simple configuration which meets demands for preventing both unnecessary replacement and decreases in user's satisfaction/convenience by accurately detecting the lifetime of the device corresponding to its use state without newly providing a special sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The belt fixing device 7 having an endless belt member 71 including metal layers 71b and 71c and an exciting coil 75b which heats the metal layers 71b and 71c of the belt member 71 by electromagnetic induction includes a deterioration detecting means of detecting deterioration of the metal layers 71b and 71c of the belt member 71 through the exciting coil 75b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
