<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell capable of preventing the deterioration of an anode constituent material even in the case hydrogen supplied to the anode is in short, and further, capable of preventing the deterioration of a cathode constituent material even in the case the cathode is exposed to a high potential state before the hydrogen shortage state is completely eliminated. <P>SOLUTION: An MEA 25 of a fuel cell 200 has an anode 2 and a cathode 23 and an electrolyte membrane 1 arranged between these. As a countermeasure of fuel shortage, a water electrolysis catalyst layer 2c is applied on the anode 2 and an IrO<SB>2</SB>-contained layer 23c is applied on the cathode 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
