<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling member for automobile electrical equipment/auxiliary machinery and a rolling bearing for automobile electrical equipment/auxiliary machinery by which the occurrence of hydrogen embrittlement peeling can be suppressed while restraining a rise in manufacturing costs. <P>SOLUTION: An outer race 11, an inner race 12 and a ball 13 are rolling members for alternator and constitute, in an alternator 30 where an electromotive force is generated in a stator 33 by rotating a rotor 31, a ball bearing 1 for alternator which axially supports, with respect to a housing 34, a rotor shaft 32 rotating with the rotor 31. Further, the outer race 11, the inner race 12 and the ball 13 are composed of steel having a composition which comprises, by mass, 0.25 to 0.65% carbon, 0.15 to 0.35% silicon, 0.6 to 0.9% manganese and the balance iron with inevitable impurities and in which chromium content is controlled to≤0.3 mass%.
