PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish techniques for surely recognizing a predetermined synchronous (training) sequence within a radio frequency signal in an environment where it is difficult to accomplish the techniques only with correlation techniques. SOLUTION: A reference sequence is constituted of the steps of correlating the reference sequence with a sequence of elements of the radio frequency signal received on the Doppler faded radio frequency channel and of detecting the predetermined sequence within the received signal when a cumulative power level of subsequences of the correlated sequence exceeds a predetermined power level threshold.
