PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system and method, an image reader, an image display program and a storage medium, with which the efficiency of specification of added and corrected parts and truth or falsehood determination, etc. of computerized tax forms, etc. is improved, in correspondence with e-document system. SOLUTION: An image processing part 103 has a control part 501 constituted of a CPU, etc. and an illumination control part 502 which controls original illumination lamps of an image reading part 102. The control part 501 sets a first illumination mode, in which light volume balance of two lamps is equivalent, sets a second illumination mode in which the light volume balance of the two lamps is different, extracts depth information of an original from difference of images read in the first and second illumination modes and transmits the depth information extracted.
