PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proxy device capable of reducing loads on a network. SOLUTION: In transferring reply data of new content to a client side proxy 40 from a server side proxy 30, the data and fingerprint which has applied a hash function to the data and calculated are associated in both of the proxies and registered to a fingerprint cache. In transferring the reply data having the same fingerprint as the fingerprint registered to the fingerprint cache, the fingerprint are transferred instead of the reply data.
