PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating power generator exploiting the gravity of widely existing and constant water quantity. SOLUTION: Water flowing in rivers or channels makes a gravitational movement adapting to geographic features. Even though the current appears to flow slowly, its gravitational hydraulic pressure is absolute. In order to exploit the pressure, a water-turbine impeller is placed between hulls of a catamaran to derive torque and generate power. As shown in the figure, the fluid pressure is surely captured by a structural constitution. The water turbine impeller is composed in a shape of a number of buckets with a number of vanes based on a composite sine curve to receive converged fluid pressure. The characteristics of the vane allow the impeller to conform with fluid inertia of the water. The vane works for torque conversion with the whole parts, so that a great torque is exploited. By increasing the rotation speed of the large torque at both ends of the rotary shaft, a multipolar generator is rotated to generate power. An independent electric power unit is adaptable even to the vertical changes in the water level. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
